Hey, I’m Ryan.

And I’d love to help you make stuff!

I’m from Western Massachusetts, one of those places where there isn’t a ton to do. Growing up with the internet becoming more mainstream, I gravitated towards YouTube and other online video platforms, watching the skits and series of groups like Rooster Teeth and Machinima.com. It made me want to make videos like them.

So I wrote dozens of skits for my friends and our “Production Company” to make. Most didn’t see the light of day. Some did, as much as I may now wish they didn’t. I continued developing personal projects and worked with my town’s community access channel through high school, which eventually led me to attending Emerson College in pursuit of a film degree.

In my time at Emerson, I bounced around to as many productions in as many positions as I could. I shot comedy segments for a sports show, edited some music videos, directed an internet-based news show, and produced both a series of stand-up specials and an absurdist narrative comedy. I wanted to develop a skillset I could pull into whatever specific area of film and television I ended up in.

And it worked! After graduating in 2018, I have been able to get consistent work as a Set and Office Production Assistant, and sometimes an Assistant Director, on independent movies, web content, and more recently series productions from major streamers. And on my own I worked to improve my writing, and eventually made the move towards working on the more creative side of production.

You can use the navigation bar above to look more at the specifics of my work history, and read some samples of my writing. Think I can help you with a project you’re working on? I’d love to hear about it!
